We are proud suppliers of curtains and blinds to The Bridge Community Hub and Café in Christchurch. Our Design Consultant Gaynor did an amazing job to get the right window furnishings that match the vibe of the Hub while also being fit for purpose.
Nestled just 150m from the beach in South Brighton lies The Bridge – an old Baptist church transformed into a large community space. A group of volunteers created The Bridge South Brighton Trust in 2016, with a mission of “co-creating a vibrant local space for all to connect, discover and access resources”. With the help of many sponsors and volunteers over the years, they have created a hub that has it all – a hall, café, courtyard, co-working office, wellness centre and gallery.
Gaynor was the window furnishings Consultant who worked on the hall and café, keeping in mind the seaside theme that was going on throughout these areas. Around the stage, she used Sunout Domino curtains with Ultimate Liquorice coloured lining. Gaynor says “I added the lining as the building has extreme sun for most of the morning to afternoon and I did not want the sunout to fade. It also looks so much softer inside”. In the café, Gaynor used Outlook blockout blinds in the colour Cement with Outlook sunscreens in the colour White Pearl. She said, “I felt privileged to be a part of this as this area of town was where I first lived when I arrived here in Christchurch, so it was very much a part of my community back then”.Keep an eye out on The Bridge Facebook page and website for the opening date, expected in March.
