Warm up your home for winter

Winter is fast approaching and the temperature is slowly dropping... although a beautiful time of year, many of us also know the difficulties that come with it. Cold, wet, damp, not to mention those pesky power bills. So what can be done?

If you already have well insulated ceilings, floors and walls, a lot of your home's heat can actually be lost through your windows. One way to minimise this heat loss is by insulating your windows with curtains or blinds. This is where we can help.

Before we get into it, the ultimate aim here is to create a good seal between your curtain or blind and the window, preventing cold air going out, and keeping warm air in.

Lined Curtains

Our premier range of Lined Readymades have a separate lining attached to give the appearance of a custom made curtain for a more affordable price. The fabric lining layer allows air to be trapped between the lining and curtain, providing excellent insulation qualities.

Thermal Curtains

Thermal Readymades are an affordable option to cover your windows. The soft suede thermal coating applied to the back of the fabric means they are a cost effective and energy efficient way to help conserve heat in winter.

Blockout Curtains

Blockout Readymades have three layers of coating for additional insulation. The centre black layer provides excellent light blocking benefits which makes them ideal for bedrooms, TV and computer rooms.

Roman Blinds

Do you have smaller windows? Or perhaps space is at a premium? Consider using roman blinds to insulate your windows and coordinate with matching curtain options. Ensure your roman blinds are fit snuggly against your window frame to keep the warm air in!

TIPS
- Love the look of sheers but want extra warmth and privacy? Consider using a double track with your sheer on the front and a lining curtain on the back.

- Open your curtains & blinds throughout the day and close them just before dark to gain heat from the sun during the day, and better retain it overnight.
